The Fablab (fabrication laboratory) is a workshop designed for small digital production; the concept was developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). There are over 100 fablab workshops in the world at present and the Aalto Fablab is the first in Finland.
The Aalto Fablab has a laser cutter, vinyl cutter, CNC-worktop milling machine, 3D printers and manufacturing equipment for electronic prototypes. Our staff can help you at the initial stage, but you are responsible for the production of your own prototype during the workshop opening times. We recommend that you take one of our courses or learn to use the equipment during the workshop opening times before you use the equipment.
