Art is a driver of social change and a source of new opportunities, comparable with science. At the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture, we are devoted to educating talented students to solve intricate issues that affect us all.
The basis of teaching is in joint art studies. The creation of art is carried out in teaching-related projects and in the students' and teaching staff's own artistic activities. Art responds to the demands of utility as a factor renewing and enriching life and culture.
The School of Arts, Design and Architecture is the largest art, design and architecture institution in the Nordic region and one of the most renowned in the world. Our strengths are internationalisation, a pioneering position in art and design research, and our strong artistic profile.
