Library and Information Services

The Library and Information Centre Aralis brings together Helsinki City Library’s Arabianranta Library and three art libraries:

• Aalto University Arabia Campus Library
• Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences Resource Library for Arts and Culture
• Helsinki Pop & Jazz Conservatory Library.

Aralis is a combination of art, science and public libraries. To support studies, the library offers the students versatile information and web services, books, journals and magazines, slides and other audiovisual material.

The library also arranges guidance and courses in information retrieval and in the use of the library. There are several work stations, a reading room, facilities for group work, a computer class and a library theatre at the library. For researchers there are eight research rooms, which are distributed upon application on the basis of library grants for half a year.

Aalto University Arabia Campus Library is a public research library that serves the students and staff as well as other users. The purpose of the library is to serve the teaching of the Aalto University, and the research in the fields of arts and design, art education and audio-visual communications.

The library at the Department of Architecture is among the oldest scientific public libraries in its field in the country. It is as well one of the universitie's departmental libraries. Apart from its own organization the library also serves the public. Read more at web page of library
