Art collaboration in Arabianranta
The City of Helsinki requires all developers in the Arabianranta area to use 1-2 % of the building investments of individual sites for works of art. This rule has been followed since the launching of development in the area 2000.
Since 2000, Tuula Isohanni, Doctor of Arts, has functioned as the art coordinator in Arabianranta, serving as a link between artists, architects and developers. Financed by the City of helsinki, her work is based on an artistic view and visions and concepts of the different strata of the area. Isohanni creates lists of suitable artists and proposes them for projects. In addition, she works as a consultant to ensure the smooth integration of art into the development processes.

Tapio Wirkkala park was inaugurated in october 2012.
