Family Issues – earlier exhibited in Design Museum – opens at Weegee house as part of Design Espoo! exhibition. Family Issues consists of the works that are the result of a course called Design Exploration and Experimentation. Participants are MA students of the department of Design at the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture.
The students were introduced to the core themes of Espoo and family in a week long field trip in the woods in Nuuksio. They were also introduced to experimental and creative approaches. The result is original work, personal to the individual expression and artistic attitude of the students.
Design Experimentation and Exploration project is coordinated by professor Maarit Mäkelä and lecturer Simo Puintila. Paricipants: Maarten Den Breeijen, Jukka Itälä, Jonghoon Jun, Daniel Julier, Jokke Katajamäki, Janne Karsisto, Muhyeon Kim, Rosa Laajisto, Kalya O’Donoghue, Riina Oikari, Emmi Pouta, and Simon Örnberg.
Family Issues belongs to the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 program as part of Aalto University`s Living+ program.
