Honorary Fellowships and Awards

Since the School of Art and Design's 130th anniversary in 2001, the Management Group of the School has invited honorary fellows to the School. The title can be granted to those who have made particularly significant contributions to the School, art, architecture, design or culture.

Honorary doctorates are conferred in conjunction with the School's degree ceremony.

The former School of Art and Design founded two new awards in 2001, named after Pallas Athene and Ilmari Tapiovaara. At the discretion of the School, the awards can be awarded bi-annually at the School's annual gala.

The School of Arts, Design and Architecture each year nominates the Alumnus of the Year in acknowledgement of pioneering or exceptional work.
